The Home
The 2022 HGTV Smart Home is a two-story modern cottage sits over 3,000 square feet. The home features three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms and a two-car garage. And with a location like Wilmington you know it has to have outdoor living as well. And don’t worry it lives up to expectations. The outdoor spaces include a wrap-around porch with cozy swing seating looking out onto the expansive front yard. And that’s not all, the backyard features a beautiful pool, pergola, a fire pit, large back deck, and an outdoor kitchen. Can I move in yet?
You’ll first step inside the foyer which then leads into the office. There you will find this room painted in a rich charcoal on the walls and ceiling. From there the layout flows into the (of course) state-of-the-art kitchen. This coastal cook’s dream is filled with chic green cabinets and bronze hardware, a large island with seating for four, adjacent to a full dining area. The living room is bright and airy and includes a fireplace and wet bar. The primary bedroom is found on the first floor complete with an ensuite bathroom and private patio. Upstairs you will find two guest bedrooms, each designed with nods to Wilmington’s coastal lifestyle. There is also a guest bathroom and a playroom that opens onto a deck.
The home was constructed by Wilmington builder Charter Building Group. Interior design was done by Tiffany Brooks.
