RANKIN USA TO EXPAND IN GASTON COUNTY – APPLE CREEK CORPORATE CENTER
Rankin USA, an automation component manufacturer and distributor, has broken ground on a new manufacturing and distribution facility in Gaston County. The company will invest over $5 million to build a new 30,000 square foot facility in the Apple Creek Corporate Center.
Rankin USA supplies factories and machine makers throughout North America with components to keep their businesses up and running. Since its inception in 1990, Rankin USA has transformed from only supplying specialty components to the textile industry to a company that serves nearly every industrial sector. It has crafted a vast network of partners around the world that enables it to supply quality products with fast deliveries and competitive prices.
The new facility will enable Rankin USA to increase manufacturing capacity along with the space needed to expand its inventory of materials and market-ready products. The additional office space will also allow room for the anticipated increase in Rankin USA’s workforce and the site design includes preparations for future building expansion.
“Our roots are firmly planted in Gaston County,” said Todd Purvis, President of Rankin USA. “We are thrilled to be part of the new park and grateful for the help that the EDC and Gaston County have provided in facilitating this project. The Apple Creek Corporate Center is the perfect place for our company to increase our market share and to realize our ambitions.”
Gaston County Board of Commissioners Chairman Chad Brown said Rankin USA’s expansion is a great Gaston County success story.
“Rankin USA saw the potential in Gaston County with its initial investment at its current site in Bessemer City,” Brown said. “With the new facility they plan to construct in Apple Creek, Rankin USA is cementing its legacy as an employer that will be committed to Gaston County for decades to come. We could not be more thrilled at their success, which has allowed them to grow their footprint here.”
Mrs. Julie Roper, Chair of the Gaston County Economic Development Commission, stated, “Growth of an existing company is a testament to the economic health of our community. We thank you, Rankin USA, for choosing to expand your local production here in Gaston County.
The Gaston County Economic Development Commission would like to thank key partners in the project including: the Gaston County Board of Commissioners, Rutherford EMC, Dominion Energy, the City of Gastonia, Two Rivers Utilities, Neill Grading and Construction, and Alfred Benesch & Company.
